The scenario on last Friday's evening =========>
5:25 PM ,says the time on my company's laptop. ( Shut down my com, pack my bag and count down to 5:27 PM before i boldly stepped out of my office. Awaiting the 5:30 PM shuttle bus to arrive. It came and i left...It da WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exhilarated n Overjoyed..Headed down to Buona Vista to meet my dearest. Oops i was late by 16 mins alrite..but well..16 mins only right..
We decided to walk over to H.V instead of taking the bus..( wonder if that was a gd or bad choice), met one of my collegue while crossing the road. Didnt say much, jus acknowledge and walk off..( you must be think why do i need to go into such small details right..haa well more will be revealed later.)
Anyway we were supposingly to have a nice dinner in a nice nice restaurant with nice nice ambience BUT, ( *pause)
Dear was too hungry and we were sucked by "THE FORCE" that was generated by the famous XO Fish Head Bee Hoon along the way. Though no air-con, no music, no sofa seats, we still indulged ourselves with fingerlicking "har cheong gai, san lao he fen and of course the XO fish slice bee hoon" Cheap cheap and delicious too.
Had our fill, time to digest..Went down to my shop..."LIM's place" at Holland V Shopping Centre. (ok kidding, same surname but yea different family) Whenever i'm there, i just feel like buying everything in it..err of course was financially handicapped..but still..i love their exquisite ornaments.
Walking n walking n we came by this double storey cafe that spells "Essential Brew"...Oooo this is the place i'm emphasizing here now. Simply cosy and inviting to everyone that peeps in from the glass door. This place was actually advertised on CLEO magazine months back if i remembered clearly. The upper deck was actually kinda Jee Pun(Japanese)style..with round cushions on the wooden platform for your butt to rest upon and short round table to enjoy your meal. Of course, footwear have to be removed before stepping onto the "forbidden ground" POinter: Wear slip-ons for ladies and slippers for guys if you wanna convenient yourself when you're there. Make sure you dun have smelly feet yah if not........you'll be the only person on the upper deck.
Food: Didnt realli try the main dishes cos i was still burping out my fish slice bee hoon..but we did order this grilled steak tofu. It's highly recommended as the menu says. Ok, its pretty tasty, sweet, salty and most of all low in fat.
Drinks: Dear n I ordered two different drinks that taste almost similar.DIfference is that i have a scoop of ice-cream and he doesnt..hmmm comments..i leave it up to you guys to decide. Shant tell you the names, go experiment for yourself yah.
Price: Reasonable and yah pretty worth it.
Verdict: It;s a place to laze around with your friends or love ones. Ideal for mini birthday celebrations too. I seriously dun mind spending my whole afternoon and evening there, reading a book or chitty chatty.
